Yes, I am indeed back from my vacation in London, and damn, was it fun! I don't think I've ever done so much stuff in a week, and considering I very rarely go out, this is a very welcome change.
Since I'm too lazy to write fluent text, I'll just write a list about the things I did:
* Went to the David Bowie exhibition at the culture museum. This one was a bit unusual, since each visitor was given some kind of receiver, which could pick up signals from transmittors around the rooms and play different music, or present extra information. They were great - when they worked, which they didn't most of the time. The exhibition was great otherwise, though; lots of information about not only Bowie's carreer, but also how he worked and how he made up different characters which he presented himself as.
* Went to the British Music Experience at O2. The exhibition was, obviously, about the history of British pop music, from the early 60's to today. Multimedia-enhanced as well, with presentation-kiosks that presented a timeline that you could navigate, and a jukebox, which allowed you to listen to music of different genres.
* Went to the British Science Museum. Didn't like it; it was aimed at a much younger audience than I hoped for. I might have enjoyed it ten years ago, but unfortunately for them I'm not seven anymore.
* Went to Camdem Town because I had to go shopping with my sister. It wasn't as bad as it usually is, since the atmosphere was very intriguing. I haven't looked this up, but I believe Camdem Town was a horse stable once, but now the horses have been replaced by stores. It was probably built at least five hundred years ago, and going there almost feels like travelling in time, like going to back to an old medieval market. Obviously the goods and the people are different, but the feel is still there.
* Rode the London Eye. I think it's the biggest ferris wheel in the world, and it's probably the tallest structure in London. Got to see a lot of the city, even though it was pretty scary. Apparently I've become afraid of heights recently :/
And then there's the enormous amount of restaurant visits, but I won't go too much into detail on them. There's one place I should mention in particular though, and that it 'Sticky Fingers', owned by former Rolling Stones-member Bill Wyman. They have really damn good burgers there, and we were lucky to eat there on a monday, which means the burgers were 50% off.
Also, despite my hate for shopping, I did get myself a nice pair of shoes. They look hella' nice and probably wouldn't be available in Sweden. I haven't used them much, but I will get around to it soon.
Well, I think that's it, really. I don't have much to add except that I'll have to live on dog food and water for the next few months. I don't know exactly how much our little trip cost, nor do I want to. Also, I'm sorry about not writing a journal quicker. I've actually been back for almost three days (two days, 21 hours and about 40 minutes). I don't have excuses for this except me being a lazy fucker :s
So, now that I've got that out of the way, I think I'll sign off for today. See you later, people!
